Beth Murray

Beth Murray is a lifelong Winston-Salem abstract painter whose work radiates joy, energy, and unapologetic color. A graduate of Salem College with a BA in Studio Art, Beth has spent years exploring the expressive possibilities of paint across paper, cardboard, and canvas. Her vibrant palette and playful mark-making are the heartbeat of her creative process.

Inspired by the beauty of North Carolina—its beaches, marshes, and winding waterways—Beth also draws from the glamour of Old Hollywood and the organic shapes of botanicals. No matter the muse, her work always begins with color: big, bold, audacious color. Each piece is a lively conversation between intuition and experimentation, reflecting her love of evolving as an artist.

Life in Beth’s studio is as full and joyful as her art. Her two children, Parker and Stephen, and her labradoodles, Hank and Henry, keep her grounded in the everyday moments that spark creativity. Whether she’s building a new series, giving back through special community-driven collections, or letting inspiration lead the way, Beth embraces art-making as a process of discovery.
