We’re thrilled to announce our next resident artist: Orlando native and internationally acclaimed designer Sarah Hanna.
Sarah's artistic journey began in Jamaica, where she was raised by two creative parents surrounded by tropical jungles and every imaginable maker’s tool. From a young age, she was painting, sewing, cooking, and creating—thanks to her mother's daily guidance and artistic mentorship.
Her career spans decades at the pinnacle of design, including years leading creative efforts for one of the world’s most prestigious stationery houses. Starting with calligraphy for special events, Sarah’s distinctive artistic style evolved to include whimsical hand-drawn maps and expressive illustrations that balance realism with imaginative flair. Her work reflects exceptional attention to detail and technical mastery across multiple disciplines.
Sarah has collaborated with iconic brands in fine art, culinary, and luxury design industries worldwide. A defining theme of her work is emotional intelligence—using art as a medium for human connection. One of her signature experiences is creating large-scale collaborative paintings with families, transforming homes with deeply personal and joyful works of art.
During her residency, Sarah will host 3–4 special events, culminating in a 5-year anniversary celebration of her business, Art in Residence. One of the residency's most moving highlights is a collaborative piece created with Jude, a six-year-old boy with significant limb difference whose bond with Sarah and passion for art inspired a stunning final work.
The show is inspired by the leisure and beauty of summer entertainment—think classic cocktails on the Amalfi Coast. You’ll see vibrant motifs of lemons, limes, and sunny Mediterranean palettes reflected throughout the gallery and our exclusive summer merchandise line. Sarah began the collection by illustrating iconic celebrities and their signature cocktails, giving life to a playful and elegant theme.
Limited-edition prints produced and packaged by Bella Figura will be available for pre-sale on our website, with pick-up available at the opening event. We encourage early purchases, as demand is high and quantities are very limited. The evening will feature light hors d’oeuvres, summer cocktails, and live music by Ricky Rodriguez on the patio.
On a personal note, Sarah Hanna has been not only a brilliant artist-in-residence, but also my personal mentor and fiercest advocate. Her creativity, generosity, and vision have shaped the very heart of Meredith Sand Designs, and I can’t wait for you to experience her magic firsthand.
