Robin Johnson
A Journey Through Color, Texture, and Imagination
We are delighted to welcome Orlando native and contemporary artist Robin Johnson as the next resident artist at Meredith Sand Designs Studio and Gallery. Robin’s newest body of work, inspired by her visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, captures the wonder of the natural world through vibrant mixed media and acrylic paintings. Each piece invites viewers to immerse themselves in the rhythm, color, and emotion of life beneath the surface.
As Robin shares on her website, “I see painting and any creative process as a journey. My creative path has taken me through many different stages of experimentation, growth, and change. My art has moved from traditional to contemporary, from Impressionism based on reality and executed in oils to my current work in abstract mixed media and acrylic.” Her process is experimental and intuitive, weaving together layers of paint, mark-making, collage, and unexpected tools—from brushes to squeegees, screwdrivers, and even bowl scrapers.
Robin’s current work uses color, symbols, and shapes to express emotion and respond to both personal experiences and global issues. Influenced by words, quotes, and the impressions left by her travels, her paintings invite each viewer into their own dialogue—an open space for reflection, curiosity, and connection. “Enjoy the journey,” Robin reminds us. “Thanks for being here.”
Robin holds a degree in Art from Rollins College and maintains a studio in the FAVO collective near downtown Orlando. Her paintings are collected throughout the United States, Europe, and Russia. We are honored to share her work this month at the gallery and invite our community to experience the depth, movement, and beauty of her artistic journey.
